Cowboy Star is a very busy steakhouse in the gas lamp area of San Diego. 6 of us, from all over the country, visited on a crowded Friday. Our sever was excellent and very attentive. No problem there. The issue really was the steak. 5 of us ordered the 85 dollar bone in rib eye which never tasted right. Gristle, tough, and one was undercooked. Happy hour the cocktails are half off, which makes them reasonable at 6 or 7 dollars. Bartenders make a good drink and are attentive even when the place is packed. Bar menu food is discounted as well, we ordered mussels, sliders Sliders were great! Three different types, basic cheeseburger, green chile burger and a BBQ pork.
