Most of the pros I've seen play with a more linear response curve and a close to 1:1 ratio of vertical and horizontal sensitivity. The simple reason for this is it makes controlling vertical recoil easier. You don't have to pull your stick really far down to compensate for the recoil.

The culprit is this new Aim Response Curve Slope Scale setting that has been newly added with MWIII. I have been testing all morning and setting it to 0.80 makes it feel very similar to MWII aim. This has improved the experience so much for me, especially when using an SMG. The movement also feels much nicer.
